PROtocolli e MISurE di outcome in Medicina Riabilitativa – PROMISE@LAB
- Research Focus: Collaborative development and validation of innovative treatment protocols and outcome measures in Rehabilitation Medicine. This includes integrated rehabilitation and healthy/active aging protocols (encompassing physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, neurocognitive rehabilitation, technology-driven rehabilitation, and healthy lifestyle support) using smart digital systems. It also focuses on clinical-functional and instrumental assessments, including technological metrics. Additionally, the lab works on developing predictive recovery and rehabilitation-response models powered by Artificial Intelligence, in interdisciplinary collaboration with bioengineers and computer scientists. Finally, it involves the co-creation and validation of technological ecosystems (e.g., robotics, augmented reality, wearable sensors, telerehabilitation) for specific conditions (Stroke, Parkinson's disease, Low Back Pain) and the promotion of active, healthy aging.

Microbiome-Immunity Axis research for a Circular Health – MIA-LAB
- Research Focus: MIA-LAB aims to be a benchmark center for research dedicated to "Circular Health." Grounded in the novel paradigm of the human being as a "holobiont," the laboratory studies interconnected and effective systems to improve global and human health. Regarding human health, MIA-LAB addresses dynamics linked to the dysregulation of the microbiota-immunity axis by studying complex human, animal, plant, and environmental microbial ecosystems. It also develops innovative analytical methods for broad-spectrum applications in clinical research, agri-food analysis, and agronomic approaches. This aims to build innovative diagnostic platforms suitable for academic research as well as other public or corporate environments for designing new products or processes.

- Research Focus: The laboratory's activities center on defining healthcare management models within the framework of international global health initiatives. Nutrizione e contrasto delle infezioni e dell’antibiotico resistenza in Riabilitazione – NARR
(Nutrition and Countering Infections and Antibiotic Resistance in Rehabilitation)
- Research Focus: Surveillance of multidrug-resistant (MDR) organisms in rehabilitation settings through innovative methodologies and the study of the molecular epidemiology of outbreaks via Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS). It explores the gut microbiome and the role of nutrition, alongside the development and clinical validation of innovative diagnostic tests.
