Service access procedures - Flow cytometry platform
Access to the services offered by the FLOW CYTOMETRY PLATFORM must be booked and agreed upon in advance with the platform personnel, taking into account the complexity and duration of the requested flow cytometry analyses.
For all users of the flow cytometry platform, it is strictly emphasized that any samples to be processed through the cell sorting laboratory must be certified as Mycoplasma-free via a molecular biology test or a colorimetric assay. This same requirement applies to any samples that, due to specific protocol requirements, necessitate the use of the incubators provided by the platform.

Here is the professional English translation for the Flow Cytometry Platform's access and fee policies:
Access to the services offered by the Flow Cytometry Platform is structured across different modalities, as specified below:
-
Free access for DMSC-affiliated researchers: These users may be requested to replenish commonly used reagents and materials if consumed in large quantities. They must, however, independently provide or purchase all non-standard materials required for their specific experiments.
-
Fee-based access for researchers affiliated with other departments of the University of Florence, other universities, public research centers (e.g., CNR), and private companies or businesses: Depending on individual needs, users can choose between two distinct options:
-
Pay-per-use fee (single-service rate): Calculated based on the actual costs of common reagents, instrument runtime (machine costs), and the hourly rate of the dedicated staff.
-
Subscription fee: Designed for users who need continuous access to the platform's services, calculated using the aforementioned criteria and appropriately discounted.
Even under the fee-based modality, users must independently provide or purchase all non-standard materials needed for their specific experiments, or otherwise agree upon specific material costs with the coordinating staff, which will be added to the base rate.
-
For researchers affiliated with private companies and businesses, the signing of a fee-for-service research contract (sponsored research agreement) will be required, subject to terms agreed upon by both parties.
The collection of agreed fees and the drafting of research contracts will be managed by the DMSC administrative staff supporting the Flow Cytometry Platform, in compliance with current rules and regulations.
-
Fee Exemption: All activities carried out within the platform that directly involve researchers affiliated with the Flow Cytometry Platform, and which are structured as scientific collaborations with personnel from other Departments, Universities, or public and private research centers, are exempt from fees.
