Tissue engineering and opto-mechanical functional analysis platform

(In collaboration with the Department of NeuroFarBa)

  • Techniques for the culture and maintenance of primary cultures, and the development of cellular and multicellular models.
  • EVOS-FL2 fluorescence microscope equipped with an on-stage $CO_2$ incubator, customized with an optical and electrical stimulation system.
  • Image analysis software.
  • LabVIEW acquisition board and dedicated software for instrument control and signal analysis.
  • BSL3 equipment: biological safety cabinet (cell culture hood), incubators, and a thermostatic water bath for the fixation and embedding of biological samples in resins (epoxy, acrylic).
  • Development of dynamic substrates for cell growth.
  • Fabrication of tissue-specific prototypes for cell growth via 3D printing.
