Twelve female researchers from the University of Florence named among the “Top Italian Women Scientists”

A significant honor for the University of Florence: twelve female researchers from the university—four of whom are affiliated with the DMSC—have joined the Top Italian Women Scientists (TIWS) club, promoted by the Onda Foundation. The initiative honors female scientists with an H-index of 60 or higher, a metric that attests not only to high scientific productivity but also to the international impact of their research.
The award ceremony took place in Milan at Palazzo Lombardia and served as an opportunity to highlight the strategic role of translational research, which transforms scientific findings into clinical applications and concrete treatment pathways for patients.
The twelve award-winning researchers work in various fields of medicine and health sciences, ranging from neurology to hematology, from endocrinology to internal medicine, and extending to pathology, genetics, and aging research.
This achievement confirms the quality and value of the biomedical research conducted at the University and reinforces the role of women in the national and international scientific landscape.
